the flower spell / beeswax prayer candles
in each bud unfurling
there is a universe
of starry prayer.
a box of 6 ceremonially hand-dipped beeswax prayer chimes, each one adorned with pressed flowers from both my garden and the wild. these altar candles are a prayer to our flowering earth's beauty, and the fertile starry womb that birthed us all.
each one of these lovingly dipped candles is then finished with 3 dips into a crystal pitcher swirled with handcrafted flower essences. the flower essences selected for this are to encourage creative opening, cosmic conversation, and connection with your own beauty and purpose.
a "chime" is a small taper candle, lit with a meditative intention or used as part of a ritual, ceremony on contemplative practice. these magical little candles are also referred to as altar candles or spell chimes.
the flower spell chimes are actually almost twice as thick as our traditional chimes, meaning they burn up to twice as long. where our traditional chimes burn for a little over one hour each, the flower spell chimes will each burn for almost 3 hours (the environment you are in also affects burn time).
please note, the dried flowers *will* light on fire if the flame reaches them. for this reason, only the bottom of the candle is dressed with flowers. when the flame begins to near the flowers, just gently remove them. you may then choose to lovingly burn them, or offer them to the earth.
these prayer chimes are made to be burned without a candle holder, using a small ceramic, heat-safe dish or plate: in one hand, hold the candle vertically over the dish/plate and use the other hand to hold a flame to the base of the candle. Allow a few drops of wax to fall to the center of the dish, then press the base of the candle into the wax, with the candle standing straight upwards, to set the chime. holding an intention, mantra, affirmation, or prayer in mind, light the wick, and remain present at all times while the chime is lit.
{ what does "ceremonially dipped by hand" mean? it means that i have opened a field, or frequency, of prayer before, during and after crafting these candles. this involves making offerings, blessing the beeswax, space and materials, setting intention, giving gratitude to the bees, all the allies, the earth, the cosmos, infusing beautiful sound or music into the work space, and yes, lighting candles… and holding the integrity of this sacred space for the duration of the candle making, then purposefully closing the container afterward. }
